Thankful Thursday

Praise the Lord!!!!!!!

I don't know why, I just know I am HAPPY today. This is gonna be a great day. Everybody is feeling better around here, and life is moving on!

I'm thankful I got to go to Church last night! I miss my Church when I can't go!!! And I'm thankful that Sarah gets to go to Grandmother's this weekend and go to her Church also. She's been going stir crazy, not being able to get out of bed and go anywhere. She REALLY enjoyed her girls day out the other day, even if she did have to go to the Doctor first, lol!!!

I'm thankful that Bobby got his car home this week. It was just on the news that a young man was killed changing a tire on the interstate. Thank you Lord for watching over Bobby and bringing him home safely!!!

I know this is weird, but I'm thankful for the crazy nightmare I had last night, that woke me up and caused me to pray. I dreamed that Bobby drowned in a toilet!!! Don't laugh, it was SCARY!!!!!! But the Lord wanted me to pray for him for SOME reason, maybe just not THAT reason :-)

I'm thankful that God answers prayer, and shows us every day how great it is to be a follower of the Gospel. Sometimes a scripture that you've read tons of times will just POP out at you in a whole new way, and you know God is telling you something that you NEED to hear for today!!! How awesome is that?

I'm thankful for the wacky lesson our pastor taught last night! Ok, it wasn't REALLY wacky, I just though it was gonna be. It turned out great. I learned that I don't comprehend most of what I read in the Bible! Gotta work on that a little :) But ask me about Daniel today, I might be able to tell ya something I couldn't before!!!!!!

I'm so thankful for all of the eBay sales lately. Things have really picked up, and I know it's because I've finally taken the time to actually work, but I give God the glory, because He's helped me FIND the time to do the work!!!!!

I'm thankful for all the help my Mom provides Sarah AND me. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have the time to do eBay like I do.

I'm thankful for my husband, who leads by example, and shows our son (and daughter) that no matter what the gain may be, it doesn't pay to be anything but honest and good in whatever you do!! He's been a great teacher of doing the RIGHT THING!!!

I'm thankful that God gives me this overwhelming feeling of great joy and peace. Sometimes I wonder how I could be so blessed. In spite of the things around me that aren't PERFECT, (I don't know anybody who does have the PERFECT life) God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams, and given me a husband and family that are PERFECT for me!!!!

Okay, I'm gonna quit now. I'm getting all teary eyed just talking about this!!! This truly is a THANKFUL THURSDAY!!!!!!!

For Today:

Outside My Window: There is an American flag that is blowing over the neighbors roof (it belongs to the Church on the other side of their house). It looks so pretty against the blue sky!! We have new neighbors behind us who have a little dog (or 2) that yaps all the time. That's all I can hear right now, except Rebel walking back and forth to the door wanting to go out and eat the little dog!!

I am thinking: If the events of the morning are any indication of how my week is gonna go, I'm doomed!!! I was standing in the doorway of my closet this morning when I took the towel off my head and my diamond earring shot off my ear and INTO the sliding door frame. I've tried everything to get it out. Gonna have to wait for hubby to come home and take the door apart, arghhhhhhhhh!!!

I am thankful for: Feeling a little better today. Rob has been sick with the ick, and i've had a UTI, which we tried to treat ourselves instead of going the the emergency center across the street. Who has all day to sit in there only to pick up something worse!!!!!

From the Kitchen: Ha Ha, that's so funny!!!! Like I have any desire to think about cooking! I'm sure it will be some piece of frozen meat that I pull out at the last minute and "pretend" to make into a fabulous dinner, lol!!!!!

I am wearing: Pink and White Shirt and Shorts. Yay, I've actually showered and dressed before blogging!!!!

I am hoping: I snap out of this rotten mood (you can't really tell I'm in a mood, can you? Huh, Huh?????)

I am reading: Same as always!

I am creating: Nothing

I am praying: For healing for my family and for a happy mood :-D

I am hearing: Aunt Patty leaving a crazy message on my answering machine. Yea, I'm sitting right by the phone. No, I didn't answer it!

One of my favorite things: My diamond earrings that I'm so stressed over at the moment!!!

Around the house: Sarah's new mattress pad is laid out across the living room sofa, waiting to be put on her bed when she gets in the shower. There are eBay jeans on the sofa, table, card table, everywhere. I hope to be done with them today!!!!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Take Sarah to the surgeon tomorrow, that's all so far. If only it would stay that easy!!!!

Thankful for the Craziness!!

Mmmm, it's Thursday morning at 10:10 am. I'm a late starter today. Gotta say first thing that I am thankful for the nap I got to take this morning.

I slept very well last night, but my baby girl didn't. She got her new air overlay yesterday for her mattress to prevent pressure sores. When the guy set it up, he said we had to leave the blower on at all times. We couldn't turn it off at all, not even for her to get out of bed. Guess what? It's off. And the mattress is crumpled up on the floor at the foot of her bed. SHE HATED IT!!!!!

Because she has no feeling in her legs, the mattress pushed her legs up into her "space" while her butt sunk into the mattress. She couldn't move, couldn't get comfortable, and couldn't sleep all night. I thought it awful funny when I posted a comment on her Facebook this morning at 5:50 that she commented right back. I told Rob, I can't believe she woke up just to comment. Then she called me into her room and I saw the look of desperation all over her face. She was sleep deprived, and she was NOT happy! And when Sarah's not happy........

Needless to say, the mattress that I was so thankful yesterday, um...well... not so much today!!!! We also got an air cushion for her wheelchair that we haven't tried out yet. This should be interesting to say the least!

Anyhoo, all this was just too much to deal with first thing this morning, so a nap was in order, and it was a great one!! Don't expect to see Sarah on Facebook today, I'm thinken she's gonna be asleep for the next 16 hours, haha!!!!

Ok, what is this blog called...I forget. Oh yea, Thankful Thursdays. (Why is it I always have to complain before I'm thankful?) Let's move on:

Even though I've been stuck at home for a week now, it's been kinda good. I've gotten tons of jeans listed to eBay. It's probably been about 3 months since I've really taken the time to list like that. There's plenty more after that, but at least it's a start!!!

I'm thankful for Bobby, who will WRITE a grocery list AND go buy the groceries for me, like he's gone to do right now! He's awesome!!! And get this....sometimes he will even clean out the fridge and snack cabinet and rearrange them for me!! He loves to throw away outdated stuff!!! That's great, cause if it were me, we'd still be eating it a year from now!!!!

I'm thankful for my husband, who makes every night special by reading devotions with me and spending quiet time to reconnect after our crazy days!!!

I'm thankful that I am able to stay home and take care of my family, even though it would be easier on him if I worked. If I were working right now, I'd have to try to manage all of these doctor appointments, nurse visits, and everything else while trying to keep my job. I've done it before, and it's not easy. I have so much respect for women who have to work while taking care of a child with a disability.

I'm thankful I just found out my brother is coming over today on his way back to NC. I was afraid I wouldn't get to see them this time! Gonna get some "3 nieces" time!!!!

I'm thankful Rob is getting off work early today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thankful they changed Johnny's medicine, and are going to start him on steroid IV's again today or tomorrow. He's really been having a hard time, and we're praying these two changes will make a difference!!

I'm thankful for Dreama, who is PRESSURING me on Facebook to finish this blog, so I guess I'm done :-D

For Today:

Outside My Window: Sun's up!! Wow, I got to sleep till 7 today. Well kinda. Woke up long enough to tell hubby goodbye, then went back to sleep. It was great!

I am thinking: I am so glad we had the anniversary party for Rob's parents. They really enjoyed it. Since I didn't get to go, Sandy called me when she got home at 11:00, and she was sooo happy and excited. That made it all worth it. She said it was like the wedding she never had. We even got them a wedding cake, and they cut the cake at drank grape juice "champagne"!!

I am thankful for: Of course I have to say I'm thankful for Rob's parents today!!! They have been so helpful to us all these years. If it hadn't been for them and my parents, we would have never made it through all we've been through. If we hadn't have had their help and love and support, I'd be completely drained by now!!

I'm also thankful for my husband, who made our anniversary special despite all the craziness going on around us!

From the Kitchen: Still trying to empty my big freezer so I can clean it, so it'll be something frozen, maybe BBQ or Pork Chops, but definitely Blueberry muffins. Just got a taste for them, and Kim keeps talking about hers on Facebook, making me crazy. Gotta have em!!!!!

I am hoping: I get Sarah's medicine this morning so I don't have to go off on somebody first thing. I don't like to have to get nasty, but I can when you mess with my kids and not getting Sarah her medicine is seriously MESSING WITH MY KIDS!!!!!!

I am reading: Still the same. Up to Acts and Psalms in "Through the Bible in a Year". Yay, I've never made it this far before. I can see the end in sight, I'm over half way there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am creating: I can take a break from creating this week, yay!! Last couple of weeks I was creating (with Robin and Rena) this great party for Sandy and Bob. Now I'm creating a time of rest before the next big thing comes along, lol!!!

I am praying: For Sarah's ulcer to heal extremely fast so she can get back to enjoying life!!! For strength for my husband to finish the house. He's really tired and tired of working so much!! (But the house looks awesome!!) For God to give us wisdom to figure out the next chapter of our lives.

I am hearing: My dog barking at the neighbors at 7am. Excuse me while I go drag him back inside yet again!!!!!

One of my favorite things: The beautiful Roses and Black & White Diamond necklace my hubby got me for our anniversary. And the new wedding ring I got him!!! His old one was well...old. And beat up and bent up and outdated. His new one is silver and I love it and that's what matters, right? Just kidding, he loves it too!!

Around the house: Things are pretty straight since I had to be home all weekend and got lots done. My jean pile has gotten smaller. I was able to list a bunch of jeans the last couple of days, finally. The children are in bed, sleeping like babies (except Bobby's phone keeps beeping, who could possibly need to talk to him THIS EARLY in the morning?) The cat's taking her bath in the middle of the living room floor, and oh, well she was, but Rebel just chased her down the hall!!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Taking care of my precious little girl, working my butt off to get these jeans listed, weeding my tomato plants before it gets so bad I can't find the tomatoes anymore (oops, too late!!!), Doctor again on Friday,

Thankful Thursday

Wow, I can't believe it's Thursday again already!! Time sure does fly when you're having fun, or when you're miserable! I've experienced both in a big way this week!!

First off I have to say I'm thankful the nurse is finally coming today to start Sarah's home care. For those of you NOT on facebook (do you really exist?), you probably haven't heard that Sarah has a Stage 4 decubitus ulcer that is full of infection and very, very deep. We've been trying to treat it ourselves, but have failed miserably, and it finally got away from us to the point that she now has to see a surgeon and have home nursing care twice a week!!!! The first medicine the Dr. prescribed couldn't be found at any pharmacy from Chester to Hopewell, to Colonial Heights, and come to find out, it's been discontinued. The second one they called in was out of stock at the pharmacy they called it into, so we still don't have any medication except for antibiotic. When I talked to the nurse last night, she said she has the first medication with her!! Okey dokey, maybe she will get something we can use today!!!!! Now she's running a fever from the infection, and she just wants to feel better and get out of bed!!

Oops, I forgot this was called Thankful Thursday, not Complaining Thursday!! Let's move on....

I'm so thankful for all of the extended family (and Cassie, our Pastor's wife) who have offered to help me meet my "deadline" Saturday. More about that to come, can't talk it right now!!

I'm thankful for my wonderful husband, who in spite of being so tired from working long days, has been helping me around the house due to the "deadline", Sarah's issues, and my back going out. Who could ask for more?

I'm thankful for the Girls Weekend at the River!! Sarah had a blast with us old ladies!! Sometimes, she was the most mature one in the house, haha!!

I am thankful and a little baffled by all the beautiful tomatoes from my garden! Last year I put eggshells in the soil, fertilized often, used powdered milk a couple times a week, did whatever I read about was good for the crop. This year, nothing. I've been too busy to do anything besides water them a couple times a week. I've never had such pretty tomatoes, ever!!!! Go figure! I don't know why, I just thank God for it!!!! (oh great, now I feel a cheese, tomato and mayo sandwich coming on for lunch)

I'm thankful that my Daddy took us out on the boat last week. It was soooo much fun! I'm thankful he still opens the pool for us too! It's taken me a long time, but I have finally really gotten to enjoy it this year!!!!!

I'm thankful for the way the outside of my house is starting to look. All the neighbors have complimented Rob on our "unique" siding. It seems to be a big hit. Of course I knew it would be, I'm the one who begged for it, haha!!! I'm so thankful hubby agreed to let me have my "beach cottage" look!!!

Uh oh, nurse is here, be back later....

Alrighty then, it's an hour and a half later, and things are looking up!!! The super nice nurse came in and evaluated and treated. Ordered an overlay for her bed and wheelchair to help with the healing, yay!!!! Left me supplies to treat the wound, which I am soooo thankful for, because we've spent a fortune on supplies insurance doesn't cover!!! We've been treating this same wound for almost one year now. Maybe with these new changes, things will finally heal completely. May have to have a skin graft though, hope we find out tomorrow when we see the surgeon.

Well, I guess that's all for today. Sarah is up and kicking me off the computer, which I am also grateful for, cause I got lots of work to do!!!!

I am hearing: A big truck going down the road. Otherwise, silence. It's great!!!

One of my favorite things: My 15 tomatoes and 3 green peppers on the window sill. I feel an egg and tomato sandwich coming on for breakfast. So much for the diet....

Around the house: Rob got Sarah's new window in while we were gone, and some siding up below it. The house looks sooo great. And he cleaned and washed clothes while we were gone. I came home to a great looking house!!! Where does he find the time???????

A few plans for the rest of the week: Got a busy, busy week ahead. But i still have to make time to take Sarah to the doctor for her pressure sore and make an appointment with the foot doctor for her funky toes (you don't want to know).

Let's be Thankful!

Today is Thankful Thursday, and as always, I have so so much to be thankful for!!!

I'm thankful I got all that laundry done before I have to leave today. Well, I still have a load or two, but I can handle that before 5:00.

I'm thankful that I get to have a girl's weekend with Sarah and Dreama. There will be lots of pictures next week!!
Mom and Pat are already at the river and I think my Dad may be the only male this weekend. I feel sorry for him!!

I'm thankful that Rob took the week off to work on the house, and plans on getting a lot done while we are out of his hair for 3 days. Our addition is already looking like the beach house of my dreams, I just need to fill in the front yard with sand and I'll be good to go, haha!!!
I'm thankful for my new washing machine that washes as many clothes in one load that used to take 3. We just got our latest water bill and it was quite a bit lower than usual. My hubby is VERY pleased with my selection!!!

I am thankful for the 5 pairs of jeans and bikini I sold last night before I went to bed. A nice surprise considering I don't have many things on auction this week to bring people into my store!

I'm thankful that my little boy is growing into a responsible young man that cracks me up even when he's being mean to me!!
(Last night I told him to send me a text so I could hear my new ringtone, so he texted me "GET OUT OF MY ROOM"!!!!!

I'm thankful for the Spina Bifida website that has so many wonderful people that share their problems and solutions so we can all learn from others experiences!!

I'm thankful for all the friends and family on Facebook. It really is an awesome way to keep in touch with everybody, and when you have a prayer request, they are right there to lift you up in prayer!!!

I'm thankful for my new cell phone (yea I know it's materialistic, but I love it!!) I'm thankful for the ringtone Sarah sent us for when we get a new text message. It says in a funny voice: "Eww, ha ha, text message, thank you Jesus!!" Rob and I both had to put it on our phones, it is so cute!!!!

I'm thankful for my new laptop because Sarah really needs it right now to stay connected to her peeps on Facebook since she has to spend so much time in bed!

I'm thankful for my wonderful husband who gets up before me in the morning and brings me coffee when he's off, puts his own clothes away when I have sooo much laundry to do, and still works outside until dark to finish my house!!

I'm thankful that he reads devotions with me and prays with me and makes me feel so needed and special even though he is so busy!!

Enough mushy stuff, but he did just tell me "Let's be Crystal Clear" that I cherish you!! I love that man so much!!!!!

I'm thankful that God has blessed us with so much, and thankful that he reminds me of that when I start complaining!

I'm thankful that my Mommy and Daddy will be back from vacation next week! They've been gone wayyyy too long!!

Last of all, I'm thankful that there is only 8 hours till the fun begins!!!!! Get ready girls.......

From the Kitchen: Well, it's just way too early to be thinking about this, but maybe Pork Chops on the grill if it doesn't rain. Haven't heard the forecast for today!!

I am wearing: That infamous mint green nightgown!

I am hoping: I can get everything done that needs to get done today!

I am reading: Night Light Devotionals for couples, Love and Respect, Through the Bible in a year.

I am creating: A clean(er) house I hope!

I am praying: That Bobby comes home soon. (Ok, heard from Bobby at 6:45 and he's at a friends house, I can relax now!!) That Rob gets some more siding put up soon. That I can finish everything that needs done around the house this week!

One of my favorite things: My three new matching tablecloths at the river. They make everything outside look nice and summery!!

Around the house: Rob just left for work. Rebels is curled up next to me, Mitzi is curled up in a box of jeans (Bobby swears she's gonna get shipped out by accident one day!) Sarah is snoozing in her room, and I'm washing clothes, blogging, and getting ready to ship out eBay sales from this weekend.

A few plans for the rest of the week: To Sam's Club & Post Office this morning. Breakfast with Dreama tomorrow morning, gotta hit a few Target's this week to look for more tablecloths. That's about it except for work, work, work and try to get all these jeans listed.
